Be grateful

Take a moment to feel gratitude for what your body can do, the way it moves in space, its cohesive structure, aligned, balanced, stable yet flexible. Notice the way it responds as you gently warm muscles and joints. The internal heat builds, everything starts to work better, flexing and extending, raising and lowering, standing and balancing. Small niggles, tightness, tension fade and you embrace the feeling of flow that captures your attention and carries you through the practice.

Now consider what it would be like to feel gratitude for what your body cannot do yet! Envision what could be, and enjoy the promise of future growth - the goals you will set and achieve, the horizons over which you'll travel! Feel gratitude for these possibilities that are yet to be selected. At the close of each practice find rest in your Savasana. Notice the support of the Earth under you, the brush of air over your skin. The internal heat starts to settle and a Sattvic energy suffuses body and mind. In a state of equanimity, body and mind settled, just being. Each slow breath an expression of gratitude for what you are, what you can do, and the world of possibility that lies ahead of you.
