Be Grounded
Focus on your connection to the Earth. When you sit on your mat, notice the way the mat feels, the solidity of the ground under you. When standing in Tadasana or a Warrior pose, anchor your feet, each part of each foot pressing into the mat. From that strong base build your pose. Let your energy flow up through your body, feel the expanse of sky above you. Your breath brings the world into your body, embrace the world, let it sustain you.
Grounding is more than physical. Notice how you feel as you move through your day. Your head is full of the things you’ve done, the things you’ve yet to do. Anticipating, worrying, planning. Take a moment to pull that attention down into your centre. You can use your breath and a grounded pose to do this. When your attention resides in your centre, time moves differently, the gusts of concern, reaction, and fear subside and you find a still place where you’re anchored. Your emotional world will slow and become calm.
This is the real You, and others will love you for it.
